Thank you Beth! The explanations are so understandable. I am sharing this far and wide. People need to reclaim Iowa as a healthy, safe place to live. We lost that years, and years ago.
Thank you, Beth! As others here have said, this is a succinct and very clear overview of our water woes in Iowa. I wish we would teach our high school students about Iowa land use and production models — I’m not sure they understand the landscape they live on. And as your guest says, the science is pretty clear. Instead, we need to examine this issue from social, political, and economic angles. Thank you! I will share this.
Thank you for this. I just hope this is a time when actual change can happen instead of people just figuring it will take care of itself. We owe it to the land/climate/human health...it's past time. In addition to your good input, may I recommend the substack of Chris Jones who is an expert in this field and has been writing about it for years.
Yes! Chris Jones is a brilliant resource on all things water in Iowa. Thanks for reminding everyone to also check out his Substack (he is an Iowa Writers' Collaborative member too).

Thanks Denise!! So glad it was helpful.
I shared the podcast with an Omaha television reporter who was out at the farm this morning interviewing Larry and I about water. Perfect timing.
Thanks Beth, a really relatable discussion of our water issues. Appreciate you breaking it down so we can all take our own action to help. #eatlocal
Amazing work. Thank you 🙏
Thank you David!!
Beth, your podcast is spot on—such a clear and compelling summary of the water crisis we’re facing!
So glad you liked it. Please share!

Thank you! This was the most comprehensive explanation of the interplay between farming practices and our water system that I've heard.
